Any side effects from AOR strontium...I felt fatigued after taking it?
Any fatigue after taking Strontium only one pill a day?
To Unknown of 8/22/2022,
No, I have not had any side effects from AOR strontium. I have never felt fatigued after taking it.
To Unknown,
No, I take two capsules per day (682 mg strontium) and have never felt fatigued afterwards. I take it at night shortly before bedtime.
Do you take 2 pills together before bed?
To Anonymous of 8/31/22:
Yes, I take two capsules together around 9:30 P.M and go to bed between 10:30 and 11:00 P.M. I would take it closer to bedtime, but I don't want to drink liquids later than this so I have time to empty my bladder before I go to bed.
Is 250 mg of calcium enough with the Strontium?
suzie,
The amount of supplemental calcium to take is a personal decision that should be based on the amount of calcium one gets from one's diet. Whether on strontium or not, a woman of age 50 or older should get 1200 mg calcium from all sources (diet and supplements). I get 500 mg calcium from two capsules per day of Country Life, Gluten Free, Calcium Magnesium with Vitamin D Complex (250 mg Ca, 125 mg Mg, 100 I.U. Vitamin D per capsule).
Hi BoneLady,
I am wondering if you have any opinions regarding the Standard Process products? I’m currently on their Bone Health packets, plus I take additional Calcium Lactate and Ostrophin PMG tablets. My body seems to tolerate them well…at least no “abnormal” results appear in my lab work. The SP products are quite pricey though.
Also, I’m wondering if you might know if it would be okay to begin taking Strontium after receiving my first Reclast IV infusion a week ago? I recently discovered your site, after I received the infusion. I would love to eliminate pharmaceuticals completely due to the harsh side effects and questionable results.
Thank you so much for providing such valuable info and helping others learn there are other options to choose from. Your documentation during your journey is very inspiring. Have a great day!
Hi Anonymous of September 10, 2023,
I had never heard of Standard Process Bone Health Packs, but I looked them up. I would not take them because I do not like the mix of ingredients or the cost. I have been taking my current supplements for many years, and they work for me. If the SP products are working for you, then keep on using them.
Yes, it is OK to take strontium after having your first Reclast IV infusion.
I hope you can discontinue Reclast because of the reasons you mentioned. Good luck!
Hi BoneLady,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I greatly appreciate your opinions, the time you spent to review Standard Process and also your advice about the Strontium.
I am going to look into all of the supplements that you currently take, since the cost of the SP products are taking a big chunk out of my budget.
Thank you for listing the brand names of the supplements and the amounts that you take. I know every person’s body is different but it’s so helpful to have a detailed starting point on where to begin.
Thank you again for all your help and for responding so quickly!!
Hi Anonymous of September 11, 2023,
I am glad I was able to help.
The Nature Made supplements (multivitamin, D3, C) are reasonably priced, USP verified, and available at most pharmacies, grocery stores, and online. Walgreens often has BOGO (Buy one, Get one free) offers for these products.
The Country Life Ca/Mg/D is more expensive than some other calcium products, but I think it is worth the cost because it is highly absorbable. The serving size is four capsules, but I only take two per day.
The Innate Vitality Magnesium Glycinate has 500 mg magnesium glycinate but only 70.5 mg magnesium per capsule. I am using Innate Vitality now, but I have a bottle of Doctor's Best High Absorption Magnesium in my kitchen cabinet. A serving (two tablets) of Doctor's Best has 200 mg magnesium from 2000 mg magnesium lysinate glycinatate chelate. I plan to take one tablet per day for 100 mg magnesium.
I'm not sure if you are taking strontium. I usually take AOR Strontium Support II, but, sometimes I take Vitacost Strontium, which is much cheaper.
Best Wishes!
